Salah Extends Statement to Teammates, Discloses Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward apologised to the entire Liverpool squad following the controversy from his public comments.
What Happened
Salah was left out from a European match following voicing frustrations and claiming his connection to the head coach had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to disclose on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
Jones also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “It's clear there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”
Positive Results
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the games following the situation. He feels the Salah's words were not intended to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, it’s always been from a place of caring,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and on a positive run.”
