Instructor Fatally Shot and 25 Girls Abducted in Armed Clash at School in Nigeria
Gun-wielding individuals have killed a teacher and kidnapped no fewer than 25 pupils in an assault against a girls' secondary school in the northwestern part of Nigeria, authorities have confirmed.
The armed faction invaded the public educational institution for female students in the Maga locality within Kebbi State at roughly 4 in the morning local time on the start of the week, officials stated.
The armed individuals "exchanged fire with security forces on duty in a shootout" before scaling the perimeter fence and seizing the students from their dormitory, authorities disclosed.
An educational worker was fatally shot while defending the students. Another staff member suffered bullet injuries and is now being treated medically.
