In a surprising collaboration that challenges usual forecasts, the game developer has revealed an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Questline Uncovered
According to the official release, "An unusual meeting pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of prohibited ceremonies and fearsome transformations reverberate through the shadows." The narrative features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine sect.
The adventure focuses on "bizarre trials and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Transformations
The trailer showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a striking sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Features
Players who finish the quest will acquire an unique katana alongside multiple items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

This update also brings the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "The Enigma." This humorous adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
